Q: When is the security deposit due?

The security deposit is due within 7 days of booking.

Q: When is full payment due?

Payment in full is due 60 days prior to arrival and 90 days prior to arrival during the holiday season from December 15th to January 3d and for stays of 4 weeks or longer.  If a payment is not received by the due date, the reservation will be subject to cancellation.

Q: Is the Security deposit applied to rent?

The deposit is a refundable security damage deposit which is returned within 14 days after departure.

Q: What is your policy for rentals after the Pandemic?

We are complying with all of the rules set forth by the state. You can learn more from their website

Q: When will the security deposit be returned?

The deposit is NOT applied toward rent and is fully refundable within fourteen (14) days after departure, provided the following provisions are met:

  • No damage or loss to the unit or its contents, or to the grounds or common areas of condo complexes.
  • All debris and rubbish are placed in the appropriate receptacles for weekly, early morning trash pick-up.  Trash pick-up day is noted in the unit.
  • Upon departure, the key is returned to the lockbox, the extra key is left on the kitchen counter, and the door is locked.
  • No excessive cleaning is required to the unit, the grounds, or common areas of condominium complexes.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation with less than 60 days notice (90 days during Holiday season) results in forfeiture of the room and tax portion of the reservation. There is a $200 cancellation fee for all other cancellations. Please note instead of cancelling we offer you the option to reschedule your booking to a date in the future, subject to availability.

Q: Do I need travel insurance?

Q: What is the time difference from Poipu Beach Kauai to the mainland?

Hawaii follows Hawaii Standard Time which is 5 hours behind Eastern Standard Time and 2 hours behind Pacific Standard Time.  Hawaii does not observe Daylight Savings Time so add one extra hour to the time difference during the period of March through November.

Q: How far is the airport from Poipu?

Lihue Airport is about 15 miles from Poipu, it takes about 20-30 minutes to drive.  Click here to pop open a Google Map so you can see the island.

Q: Do I need a car to get around Kauai?

Transportation options are limited on Kauai.  Many visitors enjoy taking bus tours to conveniently explore Kauai, but to really experience this island you should consider renting a car.

Q: What is the best time to visit Poipu?

Anytime of the year is a good time to visit Poipu. The average temperature is between 75-85 degrees F.  Summer is warmer and drier while winter is a bit cooler.  Trade winds keep things comfortable year-round.

Q: What should we bring and pack for our Poipu vacation?

The style on Kauai is casual.  Even at the finest Kauai restaurants “slippers” or “flip-flops” are appropriate.  Kauai is famous for its beautiful but stubborn red dirt, which rarely washes out of clothing.  Therefore, we recommend leaving your finer clothing, shoes or new hiking boots at home. You will want to pack lightweight, comfortable attire for activities, including: swimsuits, shorts, T-shirts, sandals, sunscreen, a hat, light windbreaker and of course, your camera!

Q: Is Maid Service Included?

No, Maid Service is not included but is available at an additional charge if you wish.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?

Yes.  We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, wire transfer and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard).

Q: Are Wedding/Events acceptable at Poipu365 vacation rental properties?

Weddings/Events are not allowed at our vacation rental homes as they are “family vacation homes”.  If you plan to hold a ceremony or reception there are many beautiful and appropriate locales available for your occasion, just contact Poipu365 and we will be happy to provide information and assistance.

Q: Are cribs and roll-aways available at Poipu365 vacation rentals?

Some of our homes supply these items.  Or we will put you in touch with a local company who will make sure your items are available at your vacation property prior to your arrival and picked up following your departure.

Q: Are linens, towels, cooking equipment and blow dryers supplied at Poipu365 vacation rentals?

Yes, our Poipu vacation homes, condos, and cottages are equipped with a full complement of linens, including beach towels!  Cooking equipment is also provided and many of our homes have gourmet kitchens.  Hand held hair dryers are provided at all Poipu365 vacation accommodations.

Q: Is Beach gear, snorkel gear or bikes provided at Poipu365 vacation rentals?

Most of our properties do have a variety of beach gear for your use, many which are left by the previous guests and our housekeepers keep them clean and orderly.  Most homes do not have snorkel gear or bikes.  They are available for rent so please call our office and we will be happy to assist.

Q: Where do we pick up our keys and directions to the property?

The keys are at the vacation accommodation in a lockbox at the front door.  The map, driving instructions, lockbox code, phone number to the property,  and emergency phone numbers are contained in the confirmation letter that is given to you upon receipt of your security deposit.

Q: Where is Poipu365’s office located?

The Poipu365  office is located in the middle of historic Old Koloa Town, about 3 miles from your Poipu Beach vacation rental.  Here is a Google Map to our location.

Q: What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in time is 4:00 pm; check-out time is 10:00 am.  Many of the flights leave Kauai later in the day so please ask about the cost and availability of a late check-out at the time of booking.
